Petroleum Equipment Technicians Level One Apprenticeship Training

October 31, 2011 will mark the first delivery of an apprenticeship program for Petroleum Equipment Technicians in British Columbia, the only active apprenticeship program in North America for the industry. We are pleased that many of our member organizations have already committed to sponsoring an apprentice to take this pilot program. We encourage those who haven’t to please consider supporting this opportunity to better our Industry.

The opportunity is available to increase your company’s competitive edge and benefit from shared learning, expertise from outside of the industry and subject matter experts with years of experience and training.

Technicians and installers will be given the opportunity to learn alongside their peers, sharing ideas, skills, developing new strategies, knowledge and techniques.  Employers will quickly see the results of having employees trained in a professional trade school with increased care for tools and equipment, professionalism and pride in a job well done.  The industry will reap benefits from experienced professionals continuing their careers in the industry.  Years of field training will be delivered in weeks in the classroom, escalating abilities in safety, job planning and technical skill.
